ARBUS 400: SKILLS SPOTLIGHT

CRITICAL THINKING

Critical thinking is an important skill that allows individuals to see the connections between ideas. When individuals think critically about their decisions and results, they are able to understand and justify their thought processes, which is an important skill to have for any project or endeavour. Within ARBUS 400, I was unable to practice my critical thinking skills and it had an impact on my team and the financial status of our businesses.  

INITIATIVE

The ability to take initiative is an asset, as it communicates to others that you are committed to your work and producing results. Initiative is an important skill as it demonstrates proactivity and the dedication to improving processes and taking projects a step further beyond expectations. I exert initiative in group work by being an active team member who is willing to participate and volunteer for activities for the benefit of the group.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS GROWTH

By participating in ARBUS 400, I've heavily practiced several professional skills, such as responsibility, teamwork, decision making, and oral communication throughout the term. As a whole, these skills are necessary to be a successful business professional. This is my reflection of how I applied these skills, what the outcome was, and how I think their applications will translate in my future employment experiences.
